 OUR PURPOSE

 WE ARE PEOPLE IN RECOVERY

 WITH A BURNING DESIRE

TO LIVE HAPPY, JOYOUS, & FREE!

PEOPLE IN WHAT??!!

We have seen the light (no pun intended) and have been lead to a life of recovery. Our stories vary, but ultimately there was a point in our lives where partying and drinking did something for us; until it stopped working. We had to change and then we found ourselves in a program of recovery. Together, with our fellows in recovery being clean and sober is more than just not drinking or using. We have found a new way of life and with that, a new way of being in this world.

As we  grew out of our darkness we wanted more than just a life of not drinking. We wanted to explore, to live again, and be free! We realized we can have incredible experiences without using our drug of choice (or no choice)! The special place that is our meetings and sharing our lives with others seems to be amplified when done around a campfire. We have had truly exceptional and intimate experiences we would love to share with others. It has led us to be more vulnerable and to open up to trying new things. That is why we decided to share this experience with others in recovery so they could find the magic that we have.

RECOVERY MISCONCEPTIONS

A. I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM

B. LIFE WITHOUT DRINKING IS NOT FUN

C. YOU RECOVERY PEOPLE

ARE A CRAZY CULT

A. That is up to you to decide. We have come to a point where we could not bare the agony of addiction any longer. We can not say when you are ready to change. Only you can make that courageous decision. We do know when one is willing to admit something is wrong, then and only then can an alternative occur.

B. We thought so too until we let down our guard. We know fear ruled our lives for far too many years and we refused to allow this to occur any longer. It took the ability to put in some effort and try something new. Only then could we find we could have an incredible new experience in life.

C. The answer unequivocally is 100% false. Google conspiracy theory and you will find plenty of examples to confirm that point of view. The same goes with recovery. Some people enjoy it, some don't. There are many ways to find a new life. Some do it through religion, others do it alone, we did it through recovery. We found that recovery has changed us in so many positive ways and hope to continue to grow and learn in our lives as a result.
