FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE EVENT OF RAIN?

We have decided as a group to hold the meeting even in the event of bad weather. There is a pavilion on site where the meeting will be held instead of at the campfire (Goto locations page for directions). If the weather conditions are poor enough where that is not desired or safe we have the option to attend a local meeting.

WHEEL CHAIR ACCESS:

The site where we hold the campfire meeting (when there is no chance of rain) has access from the paved road. There is an approximate grassy stretch of 15 feet with a slight incline to get to the site which is easily navigable with some assistance. In the event of rain the pavilion has a relatively flat access with the exception of some surface roots.

WHAT FOOD SHOULD I BRING?

We invite you to bring food to share. We will have a grill fired up each week to cook on. We encourage foods such as snacks, a side dish, water, soda, chips, pre-cooked foods, cookies, cupcakes, marshmallows, chocolate, and/or any other delicious dish you can think of!

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I BRING? Bring yourself and a friend or two or five, or ten at minimum! To be safe it is always convenient to have a flashlight and folding camp chair. Bug Spray is also essential.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

In May, September and October it can often can get chilly at night with. Depending on meeting attendance there may not be a seat close enough to the fire to stay warm. We suggest you bring a sweater or blanket just in case.

Quakertown is in District 47. The District meeting is held on the second Wednesday of each month at St. Paul's Church in Sellersville. Our group GSR attends this meeting acting as a trusted servant taking our group conscious and/or concerns to the district level (Part of AA's General Service Structure). At the district meeting the GSR relays information from Area 59 of Southeast Pennsylvania. This service structure breaks down AA in the United States and Canada into 90 Areas as seen here. General Service helps facilitate 12th Step work around the world. It does for AA what the groups couldn't facilitate for themselves.
